Samuel Mahelona Memorial is a unique facility overlooking the ocean on Kauai’s east side. As part of the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation (HHSC), it provides 24-hour emergency services and inpatient care. In this role, you aren't just an employee—you are the primary imaging provider for the facility during your shift.

🌓 Shift: Must be flexible (Rotating Day/Night shifts) | 40 Hours Guaranteed

🗓️ On-Call: Required (Includes weekends and holidays).

📍 Location: Kapa’a, HI (Kauai)

🏥 Setting: Critical Access Hospital

🩺 Role Highlights
Dual-Modality Independence: Perform diagnostic X-rays and CT scans autonomously. You must be comfortable managing the scanner, patient positioning, and image transmission without a lead tech present.

Emergency & Trauma: Support the 3-bed ER during critical night shifts, providing rapid imaging for acute respiratory issues, orthopedic injuries, and trauma.

Technology: SMMH uses the Cerner EMR system and is equipped with a modern CT scanner as part of its recent radiology upgrades to serve the Eastside and North Shore communities.

On-Call Requirement: You must be able to respond to the hospital within 20 minutes when called in.

📋 Mandatory Requirements
Licensure: Current Hawaii State Radiologic Technologist License as a Radiographer.

Note: Hawaii licensure requires ARRT registration and a notarized application with a $60 fee.

Certification: ARRT (R) and ARRT (CT) registrations are mandatory.

CPR: Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers.

Experience: 2+ years of acute care experience is preferred.
