Location: Rockford, IL
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks
Start Date: ASAP
Shift: Day Shift with On-Call Rotation (Weeknights, Weekends, Holidays)
Hours: 32–40 Hours/Week
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Cath Lab / Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist to support a high-acuity clinical environment. This role involves working across multiple cardiovascular specialties including interventional cardiology, interventional radiology, electrophysiology, and neuro-interventional procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Verify patient identity, consent, allergies, and procedural readiness
Prepare and maintain sterile field, supplies, and equipment
Monitor and document vital signs before, during, and after procedures
Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures using sterile technique
Operate imaging equipment and contrast injectors safely and effectively
Administer or assist with medications as directed (e.g., anticoagulants, analgesics, emergency meds)
Recognize and respond to emergency situations promptly
Ensure proper radiation safety practices and monitor exposure levels
Position patients and imaging equipment for optimal image quality
Acquire and process digital images, including advanced imaging techniques (e.g., 3D reconstruction)
Assist with vascular access and ultrasound-guided procedures
Document all procedural and patient care data accurately
Provide post-procedure care, including site management and patient monitoring
Support training and guidance for students and team members
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
Minimum 2 years of experience in Cath Lab / IR or related specialty
Experience in cardiovascular interventional procedures required
Certifications & Licensure:
Active State Radiography License (as applicable)
ARRT(R) required
ARRT(VI) or ARRT(CI) required
BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
NIHSS (Stroke Certification)
IEMA-DNS accreditation (as applicable)
