Waimea, HI

About

Waimea is a unique inland town on the island of Hawaii. The town’s rolling green hills sprinkled with ranches and cattle led to its moniker “paniolo country,” or Hawaiian cowboy country. Visit one of the largest ranches in the United States, Parker Ranch, to tour historic homes, watch a rodeo or learn about the area’s rich history. Try Hawaii Regional Cuisine at Merriman’s Restaurant, named one of the best restaurants in the nation, or watch a performance at the Kahilu Theatre. For a more relaxing day, drive along Kohala Mountain Road for beautiful views of the surrounding nature and distant coast.
