About

Watsonville may not be well known, but it's just minutes from beautiful beaches, soaring mountains and redwood forests. Located north of Monterey and south of Santa Cruz on California's central coast, it’s a well-kept secret. Since it’s primarily an agricultural area, Watsonville boasts lots of fresh produce and lots of vineyards and wineries for touring and tasting. Explore miles of scenic trails around the Wetlands of Watsonville and discover the state's last undisturbed coastal wetlands at the Elkhorn Slough National Estuarine Reserve, a birdwatchers' paradise. The annual Monterey Bay Birding Festival celebrates the 100s of songbirds, raptors and waterfowl in the area, while the Watsonville Strawberry Festival attracts many to enjoy delicious food, vendors, activities and live entertainment. In the historic downtown area, enjoy independent local shops and national retailers offering an eclectic mix of old and new.
