Description

Looking for a role as a Special Education Teacher for the Fall Semester? We have an opening in an elementary school available in Henderson, a smaller town located NE of the Raleigh-Durham area. It offers a blend of affordable living and access to major outdoor recreation. Just 40 miles north of Raleigh, it's known as the gateway to Kerr Lake, a huge reservoir offering boating, fishing and camping. And, if you're into history and a cute downtown vibe, you're in the right place!   Key Details:
  • one role with exceptional students in elementary school
*School starts on August 13th and assignment ends at winter break *A full description is available at time of interview *Pay rate is W-2 and based on experience. Expect to earn $1,875-2,000 per week. Tax free stipends are available to travelers

To qualify for roles in teaching, we’re looking for previous experience in a special education setting, whether it’s resource or self-contained classrooms, 1:1 scenarios or situations where you’re with children with externalizing behaviors. We’re also looking for experience working with IEPs (individualized education plans), lesson planning, working collaboratively with faculty and parents and a strong desire to connect with your students.

Licensing Requirements:

*If you already hold an out-of-state special ed license, NC has a reciprocity/licensure-by-comparison pathway through DPI rather than starting the full program over — worth checking if that's your situation.

*You'll need an Exceptional Children: General Curriculum license through NC DPI and a bachelor's degree from a state-accredited educator preparation program

Our awesome Ardor benefits include:  Weekly pay, every Friday!  Major medical/dental and vision/pet insurance on day 1 for you and your family.  Family planning benefits like IVF coverage.  Life insurance with extensive family health options.

About

Ardor Schools & Kids (A.S.K): Empowering Clinicians to Shape the Future of Kids

At Ardor Health, our journey began in 2001 with a simple, powerful belief: passionate clinicians can transform lives, especially when they are embedded in the communities where children learn, grow, and thrive. Today, we are proud to reconnect with that legacy in a bold new way through Ardor Schools & Kids (A.S.K), a dedicated initiative designed to create meaningful impact in both school and pediatric settings.

A.S.K is more than a staffing program. It is a purpose driven movement that brings together Ardor’s deep history of school based clinical placements with a growing network of pediatric focused opportunities nationwide. Whether supporting students in the classroom or caring for young patients in clinical environments, A.S.K empowers therapists and clinicians to make an authentic, lasting difference in the lives of children and families.

Why A.S.K Matters

Impact that goes beyond care. This is more than a job. It is service, advocacy, and community engagement. A.S.K clinicians are not only providers, but mentors, allies, and champions for kids.

A return to our roots. Ardor Health was founded on strong partnerships within school communities. A.S.K strengthens that foundation while expanding our reach into pediatric care settings where the need is growing every day.

Flexible, meaningful opportunities. From classroom support to pediatric clinics and specialized care environments, A.S.K offers assignments that align with your passion, expertise, and career goals.

Who A.S.K Serves

Clinicians seeking purposeful pediatric and school based roles where their skills can create measurable change.

School districts and healthcare facilities looking for tailored staffing solutions that directly support student and patient success.

Therapy students and new graduates ready to launch careers centered on impact, growth, and purpose.

With A.S.K, helping kids is not just a career. It is a calling. We are here to provide the opportunities, support, and partnership clinicians need to make a meaningful difference where it matters most, with kids.
