Description
ESS Clinical is seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team in partnership with Carlsbad Municipal Schools in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
PAY Starting at $64/hr W2 or $71/hr 1099
Essential Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations and assessments.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation findings.
- Provide direct and indirect speech-language therapy services.
- Develop measurable goals and objectives for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Participate in eligibility determination meetings, IEP meetings, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, occupational therapists, physical therapists, school psychologists, and families.
- Monitor student progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate therapy documentation, evaluation reports, Medicaid documentation (if applicable), and progress notes.
- Provide consultation regarding classroom accommodations, assistive technology, and communication strategies.
- Ensure compliance with IDEA, state regulations, and district policies.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college or university.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred; Clinical Fellowship (CF) candidates are encouraged to apply if district-approved supervision is available.
- Experience providing pediatric or school-based speech-language services preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and educational service delivery.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary educational team.
Required Licensure & Certification
- Current New Mexico Speech-Language Pathologist License issued by the New Mexico Speech-Language Pathology, Audiology, and Hearing Aid Dispensing Practices Board, or eligibility to obtain licensure before the start of employment.
- New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) PreK–12 Speech-Language Pathologist License (or eligibility to obtain) for providing speech-language services in New Mexico public schools.
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellowship candidates may be considered if they meet district and state requirements.
- Ability to successfully complete all district onboarding requirements, fingerprinting, and criminal background screening prior to employment.
