ESS Clinical is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Social Worker to join our team serving Carlsbad Municipal Schools in Carlsbad, New Mexico. 

PAY $50/HR W2 or $56/hr 1099

As a Special Education Social Worker, you will provide direct and indirect services to students receiving special education services, assist with behavioral and social-emotional interventions, and help connect families with school and community resources.

Position Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling services to students with disabilities.
• Conduct social and developmental history assessments as part of special education evaluations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student success and participate in IEP meetings.
• Develop and implement interventions that address students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
• Consult with teachers, administrators, and families regarding student supports and behavioral strategies.
• Assist families in accessing community resources and support services.
• Maintain accurate documentation, service logs, and progress reports.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, district, and ESS Clinical policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
• Experience working with children or adolescents in educational, clinical, or community settings preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and case management skills.
• Knowledge of special education laws, IEP processes, and behavioral intervention strategies is preferred.

Required Licensure & Certifications

Applicants must possess or be eligible to obtain:

• Master of Social Work (MSW) from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
• Active New Mexico Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license issued by the New Mexico Board of Social Work Examiners.
• New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) School Social Worker License (Instructional Support Provider License) or eligibility to obtain prior to employment.
• Successful completion of all required state and district background checks and fingerprinting prior to employment.
