Work Environment
- Work is performed in an office environment that requires working in proximity to other employees and patients.
- The office is air conditioned as well as heated.
- Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants.
- Fast-paced environment including frequent interruptions.
- Frequent sitting, walking, standing and bending.
- Possibility of lifting of patients.
- Mobility may include access through a multi-level facility, including climbing stairs.

Job Responsibilities:Coordinates clinical training, orientation and ongoing evaluation of new/existing clinical staff as well as completion and submission of clinical competencies at time of hire and annually.
In collaboration with the unit coordinator, coordinates clinical schedules, ensuring appropriate clinical support.
The RN provides clinical leadership while overseeing the scope of practice of LPN’s and Medical Assistants in the office.
Triages and assesses patients for early identification of signs and symptoms to prevent complications and ensure timely intervention.
Educates patient and family in health promotion and disease management using available resources.
Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications according to UHS Hospitals policy.
Maintains CLIA Waived Lab standards and performs CLIA Waived Lab testing and oversees proficiency validations according to regulatory standards. Includes oversight of tri-annual AAFP Lab Proficiency testing, lab quality controls and lab credentialing.
Collaborates and leads patients, families, and all members of the health care team in coordinating patient care.
In collaboration with the Unit Coordinator, participates in and facilitates Performance Improvement activities, monitors PI data and assists with the development of Performance Improvement plans.
Collaborates with Unit Coordinator to promote and facilitate the compliance and understanding of Joint Commission, NYS DOH, Infection Control and all regulatory standards.
Participates in educational opportunities and in collaboration with the unit coordinator, assists in providing information updates and acts as a resource for all clinical staff.
Ability to perform Non Stress Testing on OB patients.
Ability to assist with in office procedures.
Minimum Required:
Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing.
At least 1 year experience in health care setting with evidence of having obtained proficiency in those areas emphasized in the Registered Nurse curriculum.
Current NY State RN license.
Documentation of current CPR certification required within 1 week of start of employment.
Preferred:
Previous experience in a walk in / primary care/ specialty care setting.
Previous supervisory experience
