Description
Work Environment
- Work is performed in an office environment and patient care areas which require working in proximity to other employees and patients. Rooms are air conditioned and heated. Frequent walking, standing, bending and lifting. Travel between UHS sites occurs daily. Stressful environment with frequent interruptions. Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants. PPE (Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, and Gloves) as required by UHS Hospitals Infection Control policies.

HIPAA Roles-Based Access to Patient Information
- All – Access to patient information, including restricted information – Level 4
Education/Experience
Minimum Required:
- Bachelor degree in Nursing
- 2 years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting
- Completion of an accredited WOCN program for WOC Nursing (WOCNEP) within 1 year
Preferred:
- Previous completion of a WOCNEP program
- Previous experience as a WOCN
- 6 years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting
License/Certification
Minimum Required:
- Current New York State Registered Nurse License
- Certification through the WOCN Certification Board (WOCNCB) within 1 year
- CPR Certification required upon hire.
Preferred:
- Current certification as a Certified Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurse (CWOCN) through WOCNCB
