Work Environment
- Work is performed in an office environment that requires working in proximity to other employees and patients.
- The office is air conditioned as well as heated.
- Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants.
- Fast-paced environment including frequent interruptions.
- Frequent sitting, walking, standing and bending.
- Possibility of lifting of patients.
- Mobility may include access through a multi-level facility, including climbing stairs.
- PPE- Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, Gloves per UHS Infection Control and CDC guidelines when appropriate.

- Clinical – Access to patient information that is not restricted (an example of restricted information is ARU) – Level 3
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical and surgical history related to cardiovascular health, medication review, allergies, and relevant lab results
- Initiate and maintain intravenous (IV) access (antecubital or above) for contrast administration
- Administer medications, including nitroglycerin and oral beta blockers or calcium channel blockers, to achieve optimal heart rate for imaging
- Continuously monitor patient vital signs and response throughout the procedure
- Identify and respond promptly to adverse reactions, including complications from contrast media
- Educate patients on procedure expectations, preparation, potential risks, and post-procedure care
- Collaborate closely with cardiologists, CT technologists, and interdisciplinary team members
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and medications in the electronic medical record (EMR
Position Qualifications
Minimum Required:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- At least one year experience in an acute care or ambulatory care setting.
- Current NY State RN license.
- Documentation of current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days employment.
Preferred:
- Previous experience in an outpatient setting.
- Bachelor’s degree
