Description
Responsibilities:
- Disassemble, wash, rinse, dry, and package respiratory equipment.
- Evaluate the results of patient respiratory care delivered per care plans.
- Serve as a role model in respiratory care, demonstrating competency in clinical judgment, technical skills, and knowledge base.
- Prepare and test respiratory therapy equipment for proper and safe operation; check equipment in use for proper operation and routine service.
- Report malfunctioning equipment to management.
- Process and maintain respiratory equipment.
- Accurately chart on respiratory flow sheets in the electronic medical record (EMR) and care plans, and charge accurately in the EMR.
- Complete assessments on ventilator patients and all other patients receiving respiratory care services.
- Recommend interventions and determine the need for further treatment or referral in the patient's respiratory care regimen.
- Record procedures, patient response, and compliance with sleep therapy documentation requirements.
- Consult with a respiratory care practitioner regarding any adverse effects and compliance with equipment, relaying information in writing to the physician.
- Evaluate patients for routine respiratory care therapy on inpatient units and in the emergency room.
- Obtain and analyze blood gases: arterial, venous, and capillary.
- Assist in cleaning respiratory care equipment and stocking related supplies on inpatient care units.
Schedule:
- Nights; 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Candidate Requirements:
- Must have RRT, NBRC, EPIC, Trauma 1, NICU/PICU with Level 3-4 experience.

- Required: Solid understanding of all aspects of respiratory care.
