Location: Level III Trauma Center, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with Medical-Surgical Floating required.

Unit Description: This is a 20-bed Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). The unit caters to a wide range of adult patients with various diagnoses, including: - Substance Abuse/Overdose - Severe Psychiatric Conditions - Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA) - Sepsis - Gastrointestinal Bleed - Respiratory Failure - Cardiac Arrest - Renal Failure - Cardiogenic Shock

Staffing and Support: Attendings and residents are present in the ICU 24 hours a day.

Experience and Skills Required: - Minimum of 2 years of continuous MICU experience. - Ability to read tele strips. - Floating required, mostly to Medical/Surgical Units, with potential for managing up to 4 or 5 patients. - Telemetry competency required.

Shift Information: - The nurse to patient ratio is typically 1:2 or 1:1 for high acuity patients; when floated to other Med/Surg areas, ratios may be 1:4 or 1:5. - Day rotations may include various shift times.

Patient Population: The unit handles a diverse range of patient conditions.

Technology and Tools: - Charting System: EPIC.

Certifications Required: - Active Massachusetts RN License - Basic Life Support (BLS) - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Facility Overview: The facility is a 400+ bed complex community establishment with 220 Medical-Surgical beds plus ICU, Maternity, and additional specialized units.
