Description
Performs a variety of Computed Tomography procedures and duties under the direction of a qualified physician and technical specialist using prescribed levels of ionizing radiation. Follows all activities according to federal, state, local, and hospital policies and procedures for a variety of patients ranging from newborn to geriatric in age. Operates imaging equipment to produce quality diagnostic images of specified body parts and is able to insert and remove IVs.
Education
- Graduation from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology is required.
Experience
- Minimum of 1-year Radiology experience is required.
- Knowledge of the special needs and behaviors of adult and older adult patients is preferred.
Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations
- Licensed by the State of Mass Radiation Control Board.
- ARRT Registered- RT (R) or RT (N).
- ARRT Registry in Computed Tomography is preferred.
- If no CT License at time of hire, Technologist has one year to obtain CT License.
- CPR certified.
