Interventional Radiology

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates competence in selecting exposure factors, positioning, and consistently producing radiologic images of diagnostic quality. Works cooperatively with all department members to resolve problems expediently.
• Displays flexibility, team spirit, compassion, respect, politeness, and accountability when interacting with customers. Demonstrates awareness of and sensitivity for patients' rights in all interactions.

Areas of Emphasis:

• Instructs and prepares patients for examinations and assists Radiologist during procedures.
• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in the operation of all equipment and reports malfunctions to the manager or lead.
• Completes all assigned procedures in a timely manner and uses time between procedures to assist others and with room turnover.
• Maintains medication security to authorized personnel only.
• Demonstrates competency in providing health care services to all age groups.
• Demonstrates competency in interpersonal relationships with all age groups.

Documentation/Information Management:

• Demonstrates competency in the use of Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS.
• Participates in hospital performance improvement activities (BPI projects, task forces, etc.) when warranted.
• Ensures confidentiality using own password and all patient care modules.
• Answers technical telephone inquiries from physicians or hospital personnel in other areas while maintaining good phone etiquette.

Requirements:

• BLS (American Heart Association only)
• Two years of experience
• NYS License (or able to obtain prior to start)

Preferred:

• VIR Certification

Skills:

• Technician License (any Tech License accepted in the state of NY)
• Two years of experience required
• BLS (American Heart Association only)
• VIR Certification
