Summary:

Seeking a professional with expertise in Interventional Radiology, specifically in Neurosurgery/Neuroscience, to join our team as a Radiologic Technologist. The position requires competence in selecting exposure factors, patient positioning, and consistently producing high-quality diagnostic radiologic images. The candidate must demonstrate flexibility, team spirit, and respect in all interactions.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Select exposure factors and position patients to produce diagnostic-quality images.
• Work collaboratively with department members to resolve issues promptly.
• Maintain a courteous and accountable demeanor while interacting with customers.
• Ensure patient rights are respected in all interactions.

Areas of Emphasis:

• Administer oral contrast as required.
• Prepare patients for radiographic/fluoroscopic exams and assist the Radiologist during procedures.
• Operate x-ray equipment, CR, and DR systems proficiently.
• Report equipment malfunctions to management.
• Efficiently complete all assigned procedures and assist with departmental duties as needed.
• Uphold medication security protocols.
• Provide healthcare services to a diverse patient population.
• Foster positive interpersonal relationships across all age groups.

Documentation/Information Management:

• Utilize the Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS effectively.
• Participate in performance improvement activities as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality with personal passwords and patient care modules.
• Respond to technical inquiries with professionalism and good phone etiquette.

Requirements:

• BLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY)
• Two years of relevant experience
• Valid New York State licensing

• Neurosurgery/Neuroscience experience - Required
• AART certification - Required
• VIR (Vascular Interventional Radiography) experience - Preferred
