Summary:
Ensure that Respiratory Therapy services, including the evaluation and treatment of patients, are completed accurately and reliably. This includes services for inpatients, outpatients, and community groups as needed.

Responsibilities:
- Administer respiratory therapy procedures as directed.
- Perform aerosol therapy and related treatments.
- Conduct secretion mobilization therapy, such as CPT/Flutter/PEP Mask therapy.
- Provide incentive spirometry, M.D.I. therapy, and suctioning procedures.
- Conduct extubation procedures and ensure oxygen tank safety.
- Apply oxygen therapy on approved devices and manage BiPAP-CPAP therapy and alarms.
- Perform cough assist and vest therapy.
- Manage high flow cannula/humidifier therapy and alarms.
- Conduct pulmonary function screen diagnostics and fit testing with employee health.
- Perform pulse oximetry and EKG procedures for both adults and pediatric patients.
- Provide adult, pediatric, and neonatal BLS life support.
- Manage mechanical ventilation and ventilator alarms.
- Perform arterial puncture and blood gas analysis, including quality control for the laboratory.
- Manage patient healthcare information systems and medication programs.
- Verify physician's written orders and record/report procedure results.
- Perform BLS when necessary and abide by department standards.
- Maintain files and bookkeeping records according to policy.
- Assist in the departmental in-service program and perform other duties as assigned.

Skills Required:
- EPIC
- Critical Care

Education Required:
- Graduation from an accredited School for Respiratory Therapy

Required Certifications & Licensure:
- New York State Respiratory Therapy Permit or License
- Registered by the NBRC as a Respiratory Therapist
- BLS and ACLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
