Position Responsibilities:
The primary focus of this role is to address the comprehensive needs of patients within the Maternal Child Health department. Responsibilities include:
- Observation and data collection related to patient condition.
- Planning, implementing, and evaluating care based on the patient's physical, psychological, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs.
- Collaborating with unit leadership to ensure care practices comply with relevant nursing governing bodies, such as AWONN, ACOG, NNA, AORN.
Education and Certification Requirements:
- Minimum of an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required upon hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications must be obtained within six months of hire.
Experience:
- Preferred experience with post-partum patient care.
Licensure:
- Must hold a current New York State RN license.
Physical Requirements:
- Repetitive use of hands and fingers, such as using a computer keyboard.
- Light lifting in the context of patient care.
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
- Must be capable of operating equipment necessary for patient care.
