Requirements:

• Specialty: Medical-Surgical Step Down Unit (MSDU)
• Required Experience: Minimum of 1 year
• Certification: BLS, NIHSS
• Proficiency in EPIC charting
• Licensed to practice in New York

Patient Care Capacities:

• Patient Ratios: Must manage a 1:5 to 1:7 ratio for MedSurg patients
• Cardiac Monitoring: Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, rapid response involvement
• IV Therapy: Competent in peripheral line care and management
• Respiratory Care: Skilled in using nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tanks, and non-invasive airway management

The unit collaborates across departments such as the Emergency Department, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit, and medical-surgical floors.
