Schedule and Availability:

• 5x8hr Days
• Required on call/callback/holiday shifts per unit needs
• Will consider 6-month contract terms
• On call: 5-7 call shifts per 7-week time block (2-4 of these days will be weekend call)

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates competence in selecting exposure factors, positioning, and producing radiologic images of diagnostic quality.
• Works cooperatively with all department members to resolve problems expediently.
• Displays flexibility, team spirit, compassion, respect, politeness, and accountability when interacting with customers.
• Demonstrates awareness of and sensitivity to patient rights in all interactions.

Areas of Emphasis:

• Instructs and prepares patients for examinations and assists Radiologists during procedures.
• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in operating all equipment; reports malfunctions to manager or lead.
• Completes all assigned procedures in a timely manner, utilizing time between procedures to assist others or aid in room turnover.
• Maintains medication security, ensuring access is limited to authorized personnel only.
• Demonstrates competency in providing health care services to all age groups.
• Exhibits competency in interpersonal relationships across all age groups.

Documentation/Information Management:

• Demonstrates competency in using Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS.
• Participates in hospital performance improvement activities (such as BPI projects and task forces) when necessary.
• Maintains confidentiality using personal credentials for all patient care modules.
• Handles telephone inquiries of a technical nature professionally and maintains good phone etiquette.

Requirements:

• BLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY)
• Two (2) years of experience
• NYS License (or ability to obtain prior to start)

Preferred:

• VIR Certification preferred
