Responsibilities:

• Assist with chest exposure and closing during cardiac surgeries.
• Independently perform vein harvesting for Coronary Artery Bypass Grafts (CABGs).
• Preferred but not required to first assist in DaVinci robotic cases.
• Preferred but not required to scrub and circulate complex cardiac cases, including CABGs, structural heart cases (e.g., Bentall), minimally invasive procedures (e.g., Mini Aortic Valve Replacement), and heart failure cases (e.g., Impella).
• Experience with heart transplants is preferred.

Requirements:

• 2 years of experience in cardiac RN First Assistant (RNFA) role.
• Valid NYS nursing license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) certification.
• Proficient in telemetry.

Preferred Experience:

• DaVinci robotic surgery assistance.
• Scrubbing and circulating complex cardiac procedures.
• Heart transplant procedures.
