Position Overview

A registered nurse (RN) with experience in long-term care (LTC) is needed in the Medically Complex Rehabilitation Unit with cardiac monitoring. The nurse will manage a variety of patient needs in a medical, non-traditional Med/Surg environment.

Work Environment

• Primary Patient Population:

• LVAD, CVA, ABI, SCI, wounds, CAPD, vents.

• Floating to Units:

• Respiratory Care Unit/Respiratory Step-Down Unit
• TRU - TBI, medically complex chronic care

• Satellite Campus - Medical, Rehab, Respiratory

• Unit Ratios:

• Day/Evening: 1:7-10, Night: 1:12

Experience and Skills Required

• 1-2 years of experience with prior travel experience preferred.
• Experience with respiratory/vented patients strongly preferred, but RNs do not manage ventilators.
• Must hold a BLS certification; ACLS is preferred.
• Familiarity with procedures/protocols such as IV starts, drips, EKGs, glucose monitoring, wound care, and more.

Additional Information

• Nurses will float based on weekly demand, particularly in respiratory units.
• Traveling nurses will not be assigned to pediatrics unless specified.

Procedures and Protocols

• Responsible for tasks including but not limited to IV starts, blood administration, EKGs, medication titrations, glucose monitoring, wound vac changes, wound dressings, trach care, suctioning, cath care, port access, and central line dressing.

• Profile submissions must be clear and show relevant respiratory/vented patient care experience where applicable.

This position requires adaptability, and a willingness to function in multiple units with varying patient demands.
