Description
Essential Functions
- Fulfill all responsibilities and duties specific to the unit's scope of service.
- Implement procedures and theories related to the area of practice.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation of care provided to ensure integration of information for use by the healthcare team.
- Complete initial assessment upon patient admission and develop an appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards and individual needs.
- Implement plans of care, interventions, and procedures.
- Modify plans of care based on continuous evaluation.
- Ensure patient and employee safety by addressing and/or reporting safety hazards and incidents.
- Communicate effectively with others to resolve issues and offer constructive feedback for peer development.
- Recognize personal learning needs and actively seek solutions.
- Meet all departmental competency requirements.
Department Specific Functions
- Provide post-operative care for complex surgical populations.
- Assess and intervene for positive outcomes during the post-operative phase.
- Monitor and care for newly established tracheostomies.
- Assess and manage wounds requiring wound vac and other complex wound management.
- Manage and educate on new ostomies.
- Collaborate with surgical and residency services.
Skills and Experience
Required:
- Minimum one year of relevant experience.
- Trauma 1 experience.
- Recent inpatient facility experience.
