Description

Essential Functions

Fulfill all responsibilities and duties specific to the unit's scope of service.
Implement procedures and theories related to the area of practice.
Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation of care provided to ensure integration of information for use by the healthcare team.
Complete initial assessment upon patient admission and develop an appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards and individual needs.
Implement plans of care, interventions, and procedures.
Modify plans of care based on continuous evaluation.
Ensure patient and employee safety by addressing and/or reporting safety hazards and incidents.
Communicate effectively with others to resolve issues and offer constructive feedback for peer development.
Recognize personal learning needs and actively seek solutions.
Meet all departmental competency requirements.

Department Specific Functions

Provide post-operative care for complex surgical populations.
Assess and intervene for positive outcomes during the post-operative phase.
Monitor and care for newly established tracheostomies.
Assess and manage wounds requiring wound vac and other complex wound management.
Manage and educate on new ostomies.
Collaborate with surgical and residency services.

Skills and Experience

Required:

Minimum one year of relevant experience.
Trauma 1 experience.
Recent inpatient facility experience.
