Description
Purpose of Position:
The manager of the Clinical Resource Department is responsible for the operations and clinical management of Case Management, Utilization Review, and Social Work, with a secondary focus on the Clinical Documentation team. This role oversees discharge planning, utilization management, and care coordination/high-risk patient processes, ensuring the integrity of daily operations and facilitating ongoing education and process improvement for staff.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Education/Experience/Training:
- Minimum of 3 years of acute care experience within the past 5 years with broad clinical experience in a hospital setting or case management.
- Working knowledge of InterQual or equivalent system.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license.
- Certification in Case Management or Clinical Documentation Integrity preferred.
- Two years of experience in process improvement; minimum of 5 years of case management experience in an acute setting.
- Experience in developing and presenting professional continuing education programs.
- Knowledge of CMS regulations.
- Excellent computer skills and familiarity with Windows-based software programs.
- Strong organizational, analytical, writing, and interpersonal skills.
- Management/supervisory experience preferred.
