Description

Job Description

Performs routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures under the direction of a physician in the Cardiac Cath Lab. Customers served include employees, medical staff, patients, and regulatory agencies. Priority will be given to activities that directly affect customer service. Complies with the Interventional Cardiology departmental on-call policy.

Job Responsibilities:

Provide technical support for all Cath Lab procedures, including catheterizations, angioplasty, structural heart procedures, peripheral angiography, and angioplasty, temporary pacemaker insertion, and LV assist device insertions.
Responsible for technical support and clinical assistance, both sterile and non-sterile, of procedures.
Operate required advanced imaging equipment using established guidelines and imaging protocols for interventional and non-interventional patient procedures.
Ensure proper safety standards are met and radiation safety practices are adhered to.
Instruct students and residents and perform preceptor duties when necessary.
Perform quality assurance checks on equipment.
Assist in maintaining supply inventory for all Cath Lab procedures.
Demonstrate working knowledge of information systems.
Demonstrate knowledge of coding procedures for accurate billing of all Cath Lab procedures.
Learn new techniques and technology by attending lectures, seminars, and educational readings.
