Description

Education and Certification:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current licensure by the Ohio State Board of Nursing
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Obstetrics, Postpartum, and/or Labor & Delivery
Required certifications include BLS, NRP, and STABLE

Position Summary:

This role involves planning, providing, and directing nursing care and teaching through the nursing process, in line with patient care standards and physician orders. Responsibilities also include acting as a liaison among physicians, patients, and their families, and participating in the orientation of new personnel. The professional in this role should demonstrate knowledge and skills required to deliver age-appropriate care according to different developmental and psycho-social maturity levels.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments according to established standards, including needs assessment for safety and education
Engage in establishing a collaborative plan of care based on assessment data and communicate this plan as necessary
Implement and evaluate the plan of care based on identified goals and outcomes, modifying as required
Complete all documentation in accordance with established standards using the designated documentation tools appropriately
Assess readiness to learn for patients and significant others, implementing an individualized education plan based on the need
Participate in departmental or unit-based initiatives, such as providing in-service opportunities or volunteering for committee and task force roles
Deliver age-appropriate care specific to the population served as determined by the organization
Perform duties following established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, along with professional standards
Consistently deliver excellent service experiences to all customers of the health center by adhering to Standards of Performance

Skills Requirements:

A minimum of 3 years' experience in Obstetrics, Labor & Delivery, and/or Postpartum is required
An active and unencumbered Ohio RN license is required
