Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Registered Nurse (Cath Lab RN)
Insight Hospital and Medical Center Chicago is seeking a skilled and compassionate Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Registered Nurse (Cath Lab RN) to provide specialized nursing care for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. Working closely with cardiologists and the interdisciplinary team, the Cath Lab RN plays a vital role in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care throughout the procedural experience.
Schedule: Full-time with participation in an on-call rotation.
Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive nursing care before, during, and after cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures.
• Assist cardiologists during invasive procedures by scrubbing, circulating, operating specialized equipment, and monitoring patient status.
• Assess patients, monitor hemodynamic data, and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Coordinate patient flow and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient care.
• Administer medications, document procedures and patient outcomes, and maintain accurate medical records.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory and patient safety standards.
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to team members while supporting departmental operations.
Qualifications
• Current Illinois RN license.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• BLS certification required; ACLS required.
• Previous Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Critical Care, or Emergency Department experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cardiovascular procedures, hemodynamic monitoring, and emergency response.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation.
