Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is the flagship hospital of Community Medical Centers – a not-for-profit healthcare system based in Fresno, California, and the largest healthcare provider and private employer in central California. CRMC is home to the only Level 1 Trauma Center and has the only comprehensive burn care in the Valley serving 2.5 million people within 9 counties. The 56,000 square-foot emergency department is one of the largest and busiest in the state. We have an 84 bed Level 3 NICU and a brand new pediatric specialty care unit. Future plans include building a women and children’s facility on campus and expanding with 65 additional beds.

Responsibilities: Responsible for provision and administration of specific physical therapy & occupational therapy treatments only under the direct supervision of the staff Physical Therapist & Occupational Therapist. The Rehab Aide as directed and supervised by the staff Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist & Occupational Therapy Assistant (when an aide is performing a non-resident tasks such as clerical, secretarial and administrative activities, transportation of patients/clients, preparation or maintenance of treatment equipment and work area, etc.), assists with restoration of patient functioning to prevent disability following injury, disease, or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. The Rehab Aide participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department, and participates in CQI activities. Performs clerical duties and participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety, and fire safety programs. Essential AccountabilitiesReflects the job's main responsibilities and is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties performed; therefore, its content does not restrict management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to individuals in this job.o Ability to monitor vital signs, maintains adequate knowledge base regarding cardiovascular and respiratory precautions for the patient undergoing physical medicine services and treatments.o Maintains patient medical record forms, evaluations, educational handout distribution material, and assists in record keeping of patient files.o Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.o Prepares and cleans treatment area for patient use at all times.o Communicates any changes in condition (physical or mental) to staff Physical Therapist & Occupational Therapist, nursing, and other facility personnel, as appropriate. Notifies appropriate licensed personnel when patient complains of pain. Ability to recognize and react quickly to changes in patient’s condition. Demonstrates awareness of emergency situations and performs duties appropriately.o Orders, stocks, and maintains accurate records of adaptive equipment.o Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and their families. Interacts professionally with patient/family and involves patient/family in the formation of the plan of care.o Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly. Maintains department cleanliness and safety. Transports patients from and to the therapy gym, maintains compliance, with safety policies during transport at all times. Participates in infection control, departmental equipment training, and organizational safety and fire safety programs.o Participates in educational staff performance improvement in-services.o Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilitieso General office practices and procedures.o Awareness of activities of the department, division or function supported, and where it fits within the organization.o Medical or other department specific terminology including spelling and definitions.o Skill to operate a variety of office machines quickly and efficiently (telephone, facsimile, and copier).o Ability to access and enter data to form or entry functions on a computer.o Ability to write notes and brief instructions using correct spelling and grammar.o Deliver friendly and efficient customer service.o Speak clearly and present information orally.o Apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.o Demonstrated Rehab Therapy Aide skills. Qualifications: Educationo High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE), or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required Experienceo 1 year of clerical experience preferably in a medical environment required Licenses and Certificationso BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required Disclaimers:
