Job Description

Seeking an experienced Medical Technologist (MT) / Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) for a 16-week travel assignment in the Clinical Laboratory at Northside Hospital Forsyth.

The Medical Technologist will perform laboratory testing and specimen analysis while following established quality, safety, and laboratory procedures. The facility will only consider Medical Technologists and Medical Laboratory Scientists; Medical Laboratory Technicians will not be considered.

Responsibilities
Perform clinical laboratory testing and specimen analysis.
Process and evaluate laboratory specimens according to established procedures.
Operate laboratory equipment and instrumentation as appropriate.
Review test results for accuracy and completeness.
Follow quality control and laboratory safety procedures.
Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and records.
Identify and report abnormal or critical results according to established protocols.
Collaborate with laboratory staff and other healthcare professionals.
Maintain compliance with applicable laboratory standards and procedures.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of experience within the specialty required.
Must be a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS).
Medical Laboratory Technicians will not be considered.
Required certification: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, or HHS.
Clinical laboratory experience with specimen testing and analysis required.
Clinical lab/clinic laboratory setting experience preferred.
Candidate Eligibility
Travel candidates only.
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility.
Minimum 2 years of Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist experience required.
Required professional certification must be active.
Must be available for night shifts and required holiday coverage.
Medical Laboratory Technician candidates are not eligible for this assignment.
