Description
FSN is seeking a skilled and dependable Surgical / Operating Room Technician to join our team. This role supports surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in delivering safe and efficient surgical care for adult and/or pediatric patients. The OR Tech is responsible for preparing operating rooms, maintaining sterile environments, and assisting during surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, sterile drapes, and equipment.
- Ensure all instruments and supplies are sterilized and ready for procedures.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and anticipating surgical needs.
- Maintain strict sterile technique and infection control practices throughout procedures.
- Handle, count, and track surgical instruments, sponges, and supplies to ensure patient safety.
- Assist with patient positioning and preparation for surgery.
- Perform post-procedure cleanup and ensure proper disposal of biohazard materials.
- Support turnover of operating rooms between cases in an efficient manner.
- Maintain inventory and report supply and equipment needs.
- Collaborate with surgical team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working as a Surgical/Operating Room Technician in a hospital setting
- Knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and sterile techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Shift & Schedule:
- Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Day shift: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
