Requirements

• 1+ year CST experience in an OR
• At least 1 completed travel assignment – REQUIRED
• NBSTSA CST credentials – REQUIRED
• AHA BLS – REQUIRED
• Associate degree or CST certificate required
• Bachelor’s preferred
• EPIC experience preferred

Must-Have OR Skills

Candidate must have strong experience in all three areas:

• General Surgery
• Vascular Surgery
• Neurosurgery

Floating

• Must be willing to float between:
  • Deaconess Gateway Hospital – Newburgh
  • Deaconess Midtown – Evansville
• Campuses are approximately 8 miles apart
• Usually assigned to one campus based on skillset
• Mid-shift floating may occur

Call Requirements

• Call 1× per week
• Every 6th weekend
• 30-minute response time
• Weeknight call: after shift → following morning
• Weekend call: Friday after shift → Monday at 7:00 AM

Other Details

• Weekend/holiday rotation: As scheduled
• Scrubs: Provided
• COVID vaccine: Not required currently; subject to change
• Orientation week may not have guaranteed GSA hours
• Traveler is guaranteed 40 hrs/week, except when the unit is closed for holidays
• Must be hardworking, resilient, adaptable, and comfortable with change

Submission Must-Haves

NBSTSA CST credential + AHA BLS must be attached at submission.

Best candidate profile: CST with 1+ year OR experience, completed at least one travel assignment, and strong General + Vascular + Neuro surgical skills, who is willing to take weekly call and float between both campuses.
