Respiratory Therapist | General Floors |
Assignment Overview
The Respiratory Therapist will provide evaluation and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies on the general floors. The ideal candidate will have critical thinking skills and be able to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.
Assignment Details
- Facility Type: 500 plus bed hospital
- Level 1 Pediatric and Adult Trauma and Burn Center
- Adult medical, trauma/neuro, burn, cardiovascular critical care units
- Shift Details: 3x12 Days
- Estimated gross weekly pay package: $2241 (negotiable)
Responsibilities
- Assess patients for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis
- Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition
- Perform advanced respiratory care modalities
- Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families about the health condition and available community support groups and programs
- Respond to emergency resuscitation team code
Qualifications
Required:
- BLS Provider credential (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted)
- Respiratory Care Practitioner credential from the Indiana Respiratory Care Committee
- Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience
Preferred:
- Advanced Life Support (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted)
- Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted)
