Assignment Overview
We are seeking a dedicated RN for the Short Stay Unit with a focus on managing a variety of patient needs, including stroke, traumas, and general medical conditions. This role requires strong med/surg skills in a fast-paced acute care setting.
Assignment Details
- Facility Type: Acute
- Charting System: EPIC
- Shift Details: Day shift - 07:00 to 19:30, Night shift - 19:00 to 07:30
- Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule
- Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
- Floating Requirements: Travelers float first
- Estimated gross weekly pay package: $2565 (negotiable)
Responsibilities
- Provide care in a 13-bed unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5
- Collaborate with a 24/7 charge nurse who takes patient assignments
- Work alongside patient care technicians (PCTs) for patient care and monitoring
- Operate Bi-pap, C-pap, and high-flow equipment when needed
- Assist in covering telemetry monitored by Phillips Monitoring system
Qualifications
Required:
- Active IL RN License or application initiated
- BLS (AHA) certification
- NIHSS certification
- General med/surg experience
- Negative drug screen
