Requirements
- Active RN license (eligible to work in Tennessee)
- ICU experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills
- Comfort with critical care patient ratios (primarily 2:1; may range 1:1 to 3:1)
- Experience with Meditech or similar electronic documentation systems preferred
- Ability to perform/assist with central lines, arterial lines, intubation, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for critically ill adult patients in a 6-bed ICU on night shift
- Monitor hemodynamics and use unit equipment (e.g., Arctic Sun, continuous EEG, GE ICU monitors) to manage complex patients
- Perform and assist with invasive procedures common to the unit (central/arterial lines, intubation, paracentesis, thoracentesis)
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and changes in condition using the facility’s electronic charting system
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, communicate changes in patient status, and participate in shift handoffs
- Follow unit guidelines, participate in onboarding/education with the facility educator, and float to ICU overflow as needed
- Maintain required certifications and adhere to unit dress code (Galaxy Blue or Pewter scrubs)

Job Description
This is a 13-week night-shift travel RN assignment beginning 05/04/2026 in a 6-bed intensive care unit located in Dickson, TN. The role requires an experienced ICU nurse to deliver high-acuity care across a range of patient ratios (primarily 2:1, with occasional 1:1 or 3:1). The ICU uses Meditech for documentation and is equipped with advanced monitoring and support devices (including Arctic Sun and continuous EEG). Candidates must hold BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications and be comfortable performing and supporting procedures such as central and arterial line management, intubation, paracentesis, and thoracentesis. The schedule is 36 hours per week with every-other-weekend requirements, and the nurse may be asked to float to an ICU overflow unit. Strong clinical judgment, clear communication, and the ability to integrate into an established team are essential.
