Requirements
- Active RN license valid for practice in Tennessee
- ACLS and BLS required; CCRN preferred
- Cardiac critical care experience required (post-open heart care 1–2 days postop)
- Experience with Impella, CRRT, hemodynamic monitoring, and advanced cardiac care preferred
- Ability to perform/intubation support and respond to rapid response/code blue events
- Comfortable documenting in Meditech and working within a 1:2 patient ratio in a 12-bed unit
- Must be willing to float to other units (PCU/Medical-Surgical) as needed
- Scheduling expectations: participative scheduling, minimum 3 weekend shifts per month, block scheduling not guaranteed
- Required dress code: navy scrubs

Responsibilities
- Provide direct critical care nursing for SICU patients, including post-open heart and advanced cardiac support
- Monitor and manage hemodynamics, ventilators, CRRT, and mechanical circulatory support (e.g., Impella) per unit protocols
- Respond as designated critical care responder for rapid responses and code blues
- Maintain accurate patient documentation in Meditech and communicate plan of care with interdisciplinary team
- Adhere to unit staffing and patient experience standards, including timely response to patient needs and medication education
- Float to other patient care areas when required and participate in assigned weekend coverage and scheduling needs

Job Description
This is a 13-week night travel RN assignment in Chattanooga, TN on a 12-bed Surgical ICU (SICU). The role requires a cardiac-critical-care skilled RN to manage post-open-heart patients, advanced hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical circulatory support (Impella), CRRT, and ventilated patients. The position works a 19:00–07:00 schedule at 36 hours per week, operates on Meditech for documentation, maintains approximately a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, and participates in rapid response/code blue coverage. Candidates must hold ACLS and BLS, have cardiac ICU experience, and be able to float to other units as needed. Scheduling is participative with at least three weekends per month; block scheduling is not guaranteed. Navy scrubs are the required uniform.
