Respiratory Therapist – Critical Care / ICU (Nights)
Location: Boston Medical Center, Boston, MA
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 36 hours/week, 3 × 12-hour night shifts
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and every other holiday
Compensation
Weekly Gross Pay: $3,215/week
Taxable Pay : $1,080/week ($30/hour)
Housing and Meal Stipend: $2,135week
Blended Rate: $89.3/hour
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a critical care position at Boston Medical Center. The ideal candidate will have recent experience in both the Medical ICU (MICU) and Surgical ICU (SICU) within a Level I trauma facility. Candidates must be skilled in ventilator management, lung-protective ventilation, and making ventilator decisions based on patient assessments and laboratory results.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide respiratory care to critically ill patients in MICU and SICU settings.
• Manage mechanical ventilation and apply lung-protective ventilation strategies.
• Assess patients and adjust ventilator settings based on clinical findings and laboratory results.
• Participate in Code Blue and emergency response activities.
• Monitor respiratory status and collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team.
• Provide safe, effective respiratory treatments in accordance with hospital protocols.
• Document patient care accurately using Epic.
Requirements:
• 5+ years of recent experience in a Level I trauma facility.
• Recent critical care experience in both MICU and SICU.
• Epic experience required.
• Experience participating on a Code Blue team.
• Strong knowledge of ventilator management and lung-protective ventilation.
Required Certifications and License
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
• Massachusetts Respiratory Care license.
• BLS certification.
