Description
GeneralDescriptionProvides a variety of technical procedures requiringthe use of ionizing radiation. Thisposition requires independent judgment and technical skills to produce the bestpossible radiography for the purpose of diagnosis and treatment.ResponsibilityPerforming CT and X-Ray examinations. Produces radiographs using proper technicalfactors and evaluates each film for proper exposure and positioning, schedulesexams and properly instructs patients on preparations for exams and sets up andorganizes rooms for any radiographic procedures. AccountabilityThe Imaging/RadiologicTechnologist reports directly to the Imaging Services Manager. SpecialDemandsMental: Astute communication skillswith employees, physicians, visitors, patients/families and administration.Ability to adjust to job situations that involve many different people andprojects, requiring some independent action and judgment. Abilityto problem solve and deal with diverse personalities. Ability to work alone, make independentdecisions, and adapt to emergency situations. Maintain the confidentiality of patient information. Communicate bothorally and in writing with peers, professional staff, and patients. Must be sensitive to the needs of patientsand co-workers. Is able to recognize andprovide quality service.Physical: Flexibility to work in continually changingconditions. Must have manual dexterity to operate equipment. Ability to liftand move patient with or without assistance and maneuver equipment greater thanor equal to 20 pounds. Agility isrequired for frequent changes in position. Visual and hearing acuity requiredto receive feedback and information from patients. Periods of stooping, standing,bending, moderate lifting, and generally oriented patient care is included inthis position.QualificationsEducation: Graduate with ARRT Registry.
