MUST HAVE ACTIVE ALASKA LICENSE AT TIME OF SUBMITTALSEARHC does not offer any housing or transportation. It is the agencys responsibility to ensure their employee has housing and transportation. Traveler will start not less than 6 weeks AFTER fingerprint cards are received at SEARHC in Juneau. The Ambulatory Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive, patientcentered nursing care in an outpatient clinic setting, supporting individuals and families across the continuum of care. This role utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care; administer medications and treatments; perform clinical procedures; and provide patient education and care coordination in collaboration with providers and interdisciplinary teams. The Ambulatory RN ensures accurate documentation, adherence to infection control and regulatory standards, and efficient clinic operations while promoting quality outcomes, patient safety, and culturally responsive care in a fastpaced ambulatory environment. Required certifications: BLS, Case Management certification preferredRequired Education and CertificationsCurrent full, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska or other U.S. state required.Direct Hire must have applied for an Alaska nursing license before start date.Agency staff must have an active Alaska license.Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. The Registered Nurse independently applies critical thinking and professional judgment to:Perform and interpret comprehensive assessments and recognize significant changes in patient condition requiring nursing intervention or provider notification.Exercise independent nursing judgment in determining appropriate nursing actions, interventions, and priorities, and in identifying when consultation, collaboration, or escalation to a licensed independent provider is required.Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise individualized nursing plans of care based on patient needs, responses, preferences, and clinical circumstances, rather than relying solely on standardized protocols.Integrate clinical findings with ethical principles, cultural considerations, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements when making nursing decisions.Accept accountability for nursing decisions, delegated tasks, and outcomes of nursing care in accordance with Alaska statutes, regulations, and organizational policy.Care Coordination & DocumentationCollaborates with providers and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care.Facilitates referrals, follow-up care, and continuity of services.Documents assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic health record.Advocates for patient care and assists patients in navigating the healthcare system.Quality, Safety & CompliancePractices within nursing scope of practice and adheres to regulatory, safety, and infection prevention requirements.Participates in quality and performance improvement activities.Maintains required competencies and certifications.Reports adverse events, near misses, and unsafe conditions per policy.Teamwork & Professional PracticeDemonstrates professionalism, accountability, flexibility, and teamwork.Provides appropriate guidance and delegation to ancillary staff.Supports orientation, mentoring, and education of staff, students, and peers.Floats to other departments or assignments as needed.

***Pertains to Travel OB RN's:The nurse is on-call for 7 days in a row, 12 hours each day. The RN will receive a guaranteed 40 hours for the week. The nurse will not receive on-call or call back pay since they are already "on-call". The on-call nurse will have 30 minutes to respond to any page and cannot leave the island. On-call will rotate through staff every week, so each nurse will be on-call every 3 weeks.***
