About

As the largest city in New Mexico, Albuquerque offers something for just about everyone. Charmingly quirky and wonderfully diverse, this town by the Rio Grand is not only an ideal base for day trips to natural wonders like Chaco Canyon, but it also has a rich history and dramatic landscapes of its own. Gaze across the desert and see snow-capped Mount Taylor 100 miles in the distance. The striking confluence of mountain ranges, vast river bordered by cottonwood forest, flocks of sandhill cranes flying overhead and countless colorful hot-air balloons that often fill the morning skies have long-drawn creative types and adventurers. Albuquerque's many highlights include vibrant galleries, world-class museums, farmers' markets and a thriving microbrewery scene. The historic district dubbed Old Town Plaza spans 10 blocks with fabulous restaurants, cafes, shops and the historic San Felipe de Neri Church, constructed in 1793.
