Description

• Specialty: Interventional Radiology RN
• Facility: 933-bed Level III Trauma Center, Level III NICU, Magnet Designated, Comprehensive Stroke Center
• Department Details: 24/7 Interventional Radiology department with 5 procedure rooms
• Required Experience: Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience; must have both IR and Neuro IR experience with basic to complex cases
• Traveler Experience: First-time travelers accepted
• Required Skills: Experience administering moderate sedation, monitoring patients, and documenting procedures; experience with general and neuro-interventional radiology procedures
• Required Certifications/Licenses: BLS and ACLS
• Patient Population: Adult patients only; no pediatric patients
• Typical Procedures Performed: Kyphoplasty, vertebroplasty, central lines, PICCs, ports, fistulograms, IVC filters, nephrostomy tubes, nephroureteral stents, peripheral interventions, coil embolization, thoracentesis, paracentesis, cryoablation, CT-guided biopsies, drains, cerebral angiography, WADA testing, spinal angiography, stroke intervention, embolization, TIPS, Y-90, carotid stenting, and treatment of bleeds
• Preferred Skills: AAA intervention experience and experience with EPIC, Siemens, and GE equipment
• Average Daily Volume: Approximately 40–50 patients per day
• Support Staff: Two department coordinators, two lead technologists, technologist specialists, 24/7 respiratory therapy, hospitalist coverage, and CNA/transport support
• Documentation Systems: EPIC; experience preferred
• Technology/Equipment: Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Change Healthcare PACS, Siemens and GE imaging equipment, MedRad injectors, IVUS, GE ultrasound, laser, Bovie, and AngioJet
• Floating: None
• Weekends: Call approximately every 5th or 6th weekend, from end of shift Friday through Monday at 7:00 a.m.
• On Call: One weekday call shift per week, Monday through Thursday, from end of shift until 7:00 a.m.; 30-minute response time required
• Call Requirements: Travelers may take both General IR and Neuro IR call based on experience and department needs; overnight positions do not require call
• Holiday Requirements: No current holiday requirement; subject to change and would be call coverage only
• Orientation: 1–2 weeks with a preceptor, followed by competency validation
• RTO Policy: Up to 7 days may be approved
• Scheduling: General IR shifts typically 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.; Neuro IR shifts typically 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Manager may consider alternative shift configurations
• Dress Code: Procedural scrubs provided by the facility
• Parking: Free parking in the facility structure with badge access
• Additional Requirement: COVID-19 vaccination required
