Description

• Specialty: Cardiac Sonographer/Echo Technologist
• Shift: 8-hour evening shifts, 40 hours per week
• Schedule: Wednesday–Sunday, 12:30 p.m.–9:00 p.m.
• Weekends: Regular schedule includes Saturday and Sunday
• On Call: None
• Holiday Requirements: Based on department needs
• Facility: 885-bed Level I Trauma Center, academic teaching hospital, Chest Pain Center, and Stroke Center
• Department Volume: Approximately 110 comprehensive transthoracic echocardiograms, 14 stress-related studies, and 5–6 transesophageal echocardiograms per day across the department
• Required Experience: Minimum 2 years of cardiac sonography experience
• Required Certifications: BLS and either RDCS through ARDMS or RCS/ACS through CCI
• Preferred Certifications: ACLS and PALS
• Required Skills: 2D imaging, Doppler, color-flow imaging, 3D imaging, strain imaging, and contrast studies
• Preferred Skills: Stress echocardiography, interventional procedure experience, and IV management training
• Patient Population/Common Diagnoses: Heart failure, advanced cardiac diagnostics, chemotherapy evaluations, and renal transplant evaluations
• Typical Procedures: TTE, TEE, stress echocardiography, and dobutamine stress echocardiography
• Department Support: Dedicated cardiac ultrasound educator, chief sonographer, approximately 19 cardiac sonographers across the main and satellite locations, five RNs, and two EP staff members
• Documentation System: EPIC/Encompass
• Technology/Equipment: Philips and GE echocardiography systems, GE CASE stress-testing equipment, and Philips ISCV reporting
