Med Surg RN – VA Medical Center | Charleston, SC | $48–$50/Hour

IMPORTANT VA EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: To be eligible for this VA assignment, all RN nursing degrees held by the candidate, regardless of degree level (ASN/ADN, BSN, MSN, etc.), must be from nursing programs that were ACEN or CCNE accredited at the time of graduation.
Nexus MedPro Staffing is seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for a local contract opportunity supporting the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina.

Pay Rate: $48–$50/hour
Assignment: September 7, 2026 – February 28, 2027
Schedule: 12-hour day shifts | Alternating weekends | Weekdays, weekends, and holidays required
Position Overview
The Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse will provide direct nursing care within an acute-care medical/surgical unit. The role encompasses care for patients with a variety of medical and surgical needs, including spinal cord injuries, telemetry, orthopedics, medicine, oncology, neurology, acute rehabilitation, general surgery, and post-operative care.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and ongoing patient monitoring
* Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
* Administer medications and provide appropriate nursing treatments
* Provide IV therapy and acute-care nursing interventions
* Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition
* Provide care for medical, surgical, telemetry, and post-operative patients
* Provide patient and family education
* Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
* Maintain accurate electronic medical record documentation
* Coordinate patient care and transitions
* Follow established safety and emergency response procedures
Schedule
Day Shift: 7:30 AM–8:00 PM
12-hour day shifts with alternating weekends. Candidates must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as required by the facility.
Requirements
* Current, full, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in any U.S. state, territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia
* Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification
* All RN nursing degrees held must meet the ACEN/CCNE accreditation requirement stated above
* Medical-Surgical and/or acute-care RN experience
* Strong clinical assessment, documentation, communication, and patient-care skills
* Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team
* Ability to complete required VA credentialing and compliance requirements
