Description
Nexus MedPro Staffing is seeking an experienced MS/Tele Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment on a Neuroscience unit with a reputable healthcare system in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Assignment Details
Location: Winston-Salem, NC
Start Date: September 28, 2026
Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule: 3x12-hour day shifts
Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
Hours: 36 hours/week
Estimated Weekly Pay: Up to $1,983/week
Scheduling: Self-scheduling
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Floating: Required, primarily to Med Surg
Orientation: 36 hours
Experience Requirements — Hard Stops
Candidates must meet all of the following:
Minimum 2 years of total qualifying experience
At least 1 full year of direct Medical-Surgical experience — HARD STOP
Remaining experience may be MS/Tele, Telemetry or PCU
At least 2 successfully completed travel assignments — HARD STOP
Epic experience required
Direct Med Surg experience must be clearly documented in work history
Certifications
BLS required
NIHSS required
ACLS preferred
Clinical Experience
Candidates should be comfortable with:
Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing
Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
CVA/stroke patients
Seizure disorders
IV therapy and phlebotomy
Central and peripheral line management
Blood product administration
Rapid Response/Code Team participation
Non-invasive airway management
Cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration
Neuro Stepdown, PCU/Stepdown, traumatic brain injury, intracranial bleed and spinal cord injury experience are beneficial.
Neuroscience Unit
This is a high-volume neuroscience unit caring primarily for adult and geriatric patients with conditions including:
Stroke/CVA
Seizures
Subdural hematomas
Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH)
Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH)
Brain tumors
Other neurosurgical and neurological conditions
Unit highlights:
Approximately 55 beds
Average census around 50
Typical RN ratio 1:6
4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) with approximately 1:4 staffing
Floating required, primarily to Med Surg
Every-other-weekend requirement
Extensive interdisciplinary support
Compensation
Up to $1,983 per week
Up to $1,983/week may include taxable wages and applicable non-taxable travel stipends for qualified travelers. Actual compensation may vary based on eligibility, hours worked, and final offer.
