Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) - Days + Nights Available - Travel/Contract

Job Requirements
  • Education Requirements: Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
  • Certifications Requirements: BLS certification; WI license; additional certifications such as CNOR or ACLS preferred
  • Experience Requirements: Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience; recent ophthalmology experience required; experience with retina, cataracts, minor ortho cases, and breast/plastic cases
  • Other Requirements: Ability to work day and night shifts; ability to handle emergent cases; strong communication and teamwork skills

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide perioperative nursing care by preparing the operating room and assisting with ophthalmology, ortho, and breast/plastic surgical cases.
  • Collaborate with surgical team members to ensure patient safety, adherence to protocols, and efficient case flow, especially during emergent procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the EPIC EMR system, including patient records, procedure details, and intraoperative updates.
  • Execute on-call duties, including responding within 30 minutes to emergent retina cases and supporting after-hours surgical needs.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and certification requirements such as BLS and state licensure throughout the assignment.
