Title:  Medical Lab Tech
Location:  West Bend, Wisconsin
Contract: 13 weeks
Schedule: Mid Shift - Will include weekends and holidays.  Shift times vary from 1100-1730, 1300-2130, and 1330-2200
Requirements: 2+ years of proven experience as a Medical Lab Tech | Associate's degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology, including an internship at an affiliated laboratory from an accredited institution is required
-MLT or MLS Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent is required. -ASCP certification or equivalent is required.

Job Summary

• Perform laboratory procedures using established protocols with minimal supervision.
• Ensure quality control, instrument maintenance, and specimen processing.
• Conduct blood collection duties to ensure timely test results.
• Stay updated on technical procedures and follow protocols for interpreting and verifying test results.
• Identify and investigate abnormal or inconsistent results, notifying leadership of potential issues promptly.
• Prioritize and multitask to complete assignments efficiently, adjusting to fluctuating workloads as needed.
• Maintain clean and organized workstations and complete special projects as assigned.
• Communicate delays, issues, or potential problems to leadership.
• Perform and document quality control procedures, corrective actions, and instrument maintenance.
• Assist in training students and new employees, covering training materials and developing curriculum.
• Participate in error detection, investigation, and process improvement initiatives.
• Provide evidence of continuing education annually.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology, including an internship at an accredited institution, or equivalent military training meeting CLIA and CAP requirements.
• MLT or MLS Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent within 1 year of hire.
• ASCP certification or equivalent within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of clinical laboratory experience.
