Description

Title:  Level II EEG Technologist

Location:  Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Contract: 13 weeks

Schedule: A Week 7/70 12p-1030p

Requirements:  2 years of Level II EEG Technologist experience

-American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire. 
-Registered by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) in a minimum of 1 of the following: 
--Registered Electroencephalography Technologist (EEG).
--Registered Nerve Conduction Velocity Testing (EMG/NCV). 
--Certified Autonomic Professional (CAP). 
--Certified Long Term Monitoring Technologist (CLTM). 
--Registered Evoked Potential Technologist.

Job Title: Neurodiagnostic Tech II

Job Summary:
Under the limited supervision of the Neurodiagnostic (ND) Tech Educator or delegated team member, the Neurodiagnostic Tech II is responsible for preparing patients for a variety of neurodiagnostic procedures, including routine Electroencephalography (EEG), Electromyography (EMG), long-term and intraoperative monitoring, evoked potentials, nerve conduction velocities, autonomic testing, Neuro Interventional radiology WADA, and Positron Emission Tomography (PET). These procedures are conducted in the laboratory, at the bedside, and in critical care units for patients of all ages. Additional responsibilities include charge capture, scheduling patients, assisting with front desk operations, and floating to other sites as needed to ensure optimal department operations.

Key duties include:
- Accurate measurement and application of electrodes according to the International 10-20 System.
- Gathering comprehensive patient histories and documenting relevant information.
- Explaining test procedures to patients and their families.
- Recognizing medical contraindications for activation procedures.
- Preparing testing supplies, exam rooms, and neurodiagnostic equipment.
- Implementing alternative methods or adjusting controls to obtain optimal recordings.
- Observing and training for advanced procedures such as EMG, EVP, autonomics, intraoperative monitoring (IOM), WADA, and PET.
- Triaging software error messages, equipment malfunctions, and other technical issues.
- Reviewing and clipping EMU and continuous EEG files according to laboratory standards.

Required Qualifications:
- Proven ability to perform Electroencephalography.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA-approved equivalent within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of proven experience as a Neurodiagnostic Technician.
- Experience with nerve conduction velocity testing, autonomics, long-term monitoring, evoked potentials, and magnetoencephalography.
- Graduate of an accredited Neurodiagnostic Technology program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalography and Evoked Potentials (ABRET).
- Registered by ABRET in one or more of the following:
-- Registered Electroencephalography Technologist (EEG).
-- Registered Nerve Conduction Velocity Testing (EMG/NCV).
-- Certified Autonomic Professional (CAP).
-- Certified Long Term Monitoring Technologist (CLTM).
-- Registered Evoked Potential Technologist.

Additional Information:
- May be required to float to other sites to ensure optimal department operations.
