Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Med/Surg unit located in Montgomery, AL. This contract position offers an exciting opportunity for both seasoned professionals and first-time travelers. With a focus on delivering high-quality patient care, you will be part of a dynamic team in a facility known for its Level I Trauma Center and comprehensive services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to patients in the Med/Surg unit, ensuring adherence to high standards of quality care.
• Monitor patient progress and report any changes in condition.
• Assist with daily living activities, including bathing and mobility.
• Administer medications and document patient responses.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 18 months experience in MedSurg and/or ICU required.
• EPIC or Cerner experience preferred; Cerner is required for strictly ICU experience.
• Required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS.
• Telemetry experience is a plus; please elaborate on experience if applicable.

Unit Information:

• 6 North Trauma Surgical: 23 beds, general surgery and vascular surgeries.
• 5 South Neuroscience: 33 beds, CVA, TBI, spinal fusion, etc.
• 5 North MedSurg/Oncology: 39 beds, high acuity, fast-paced environment.
• 3 South Orthopedics: 20 beds, joint replacements and fractures.
• 3 North MS/Ortho/Urology: 23 beds, urology, ENT, ortho.

Scheduling and Orientation:

• Shift Times: 7a-7p, 7p-7a.
• Weekend rotation: Every other or 4 weekend days per month.
• Orientation: 24 hours of classroom time and 24 hours on the unit for new travelers.
