Join a leading acute-care hospital in Louisville, KY, as a Respiratory Therapist specializing in Rehabilitation. This contract position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on adult critical care.
Unit Information:
- Minimum Years of Experience Required: 1 year
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted with previous adult critical care experience
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: COPD, Transplant center, CVICU, Cystic Fibrosis, Asthma, Heart Failure, LVAD, Neuro; Frazier home vents and few pediatrics.
Patient Load: Varies; in ICU, typically capped at 6 vents.
Required License and Certifications: BLS, ACLS, RRT. CRT will be considered with good experience.
Skills Required: Adult critical care experience. Pediatric experience is not required but must be willing to learn. Skills include oxygen, aerosol/MDI treatments, ventilator management, trach care, CPT, suctioning, PEP therapy, ABG, and ABLS. Flexibility is a must.
Support within the Department: 1 supervisor for each shift.
Technology/Equipment: EMR: Cerner; Med dispensing: Omnicell; Monitors: Phillips; Unit specific equipment includes V60 BiPAP, PB 980, NK 440, NK 550, Hamilton MR-1, Zoll, Airvo/High flow, Nitric (managed in CVICU), Veletri, nocturnal BiPAP: V30 and Resmed. Transport vents are not different.
Floating: Yes, could float to Frazier Rehab (on the same campus as Jewish).
Orientation: NEO; 2 shifts of orientation in department.
Scheduling: Weekend rotation: 4 weekend shifts in a month; No on-call; Holiday expectations as needed; Approval of RTO to go through manager; Schedule made a month at a time.
Other Notes: Scrub Color: Ceil Blue; Free badge access parking lot.
