We are seeking a dedicated and skilled PICU Registered Nurse to join our team in Shreveport, LA. This contract position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing high-quality care to pediatric patients in critical conditions.

Please ensure the traveler is aware of the following: Upon accepting an assignment and starting your role, your unit manager may assign you to an "Emergency Team" where there will be an expectation to stay at the facility until after the event passes or be part of the relief team. Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed on each emergency event, as impacts vary. By signing your travel contract to take a position, you accept the above and will report as assigned by your immediate unit manager if an emergency event were to occur. You should not apply for a role if you are not comfortable with the above.

Holiday Availability: Candidates must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. Although Halloween is not a paid holiday, some units may require traveler coverage. Holiday assignments are based on departmental needs and fair staff rotation.

This unit is open to first-time travelers with 1 year of experience accepted. Epic experience is required. The average census is 5 with 8 rooms and a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2. Floating to other pediatric and NICU units may be required, along with 2 weekend rotations per month.

Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and PALS. Familiarity with special equipment such as vents, Alaris IV pumps, cooling blankets, cardiac monitoring, high-frequency oscillatory vents, PCA pumps, EEG ICP & BIS monitoring, and EVD systems is essential. Scrub color is royal blue.
