Join a leading healthcare facility as a Travel X-Ray Technologist in Clyde, NC. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a vibrant community, surrounded by the stunning Great Smoky Mountains National Park. As a Travel X-Ray Technologist, you will play a crucial role in providing quality imaging services and patient care.
Orientation: Bi-weekly
Facility Overview: The facility is a 154-bed hospital offering a variety of services including orthopedics, spine services, cardiology, general surgery, women's care, emergency department, and behavioral health. It is also accredited by the Joint Commission and recognized as a Chest Pain Center.
Location Highlights: Clyde, NC is conveniently located 20 miles from Asheville and within driving distance of popular destinations such as Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, TN; Atlanta, GA; Charleston, SC; Knoxville, TN; Columbia, SC; and Greenville, SC.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
- Active Radiologic Technologist and Technician license
- ARRT registered or registry eligible
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a stressful environment and respond appropriately
Essential Functions:
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions as appropriate
- Prepare preliminary paperwork for final interpretation by the cardiologist
- Perform exercise, pharmaceutical, and echo stress tests
- Recognize chest pain and arrhythmias during stress testing
- Disassemble, clean, and sterilize equipment as needed
- Assist with computerized charting and departmental quality improvement processes
Minimum Education: Graduate of an approved course in Radiologic Technology.
Minimum Work Experience: Hospital training during two years of approved Radiologic Technologist program. Experience in other x-ray departments, clinics, or medical offices is highly desirable.
