Join our team as a Med Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) in Rochester, NY! We are seeking dedicated RNs with a strong competency in phlebotomy and IV placement, as these skills are essential for this role. Our facility is committed to providing high-quality care and support to both patients and staff.

Position / Specialty: MS/Tele RN

Ratios: Day/Eve ratios are 5 to 1 (stretch 6-7). Night ratios are expected to be 6-7 to 1 (stretch 8-10 if staff calls in). We have Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) on all units who assist with vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living.

Years of Experience Required: 1 year

First-timers Accepted: Yes

Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend

Certifications Required: BLS

On-call Requirement: No

Floating Requirement: Yes, travelers will float within scope to meet facility needs but will not practice outside of scope.

Block Schedule Accommodation: They will try to accommodate but it's not guaranteed.

Locals Accepted: No (75 miles)

Pending License Accepted: No

RTO Restrictions: Please keep RTO close to 1 week.

Special Requirements:

• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Use of Rapid Response Teams
• Peripheral Line Care/Management
• Nasal Cannula and Oxygen face masks
• Portable Oxygen tank and Non-invasive airway management
• Isolation Precautions

Patient Diagnoses Include: Acute kidney injury, Sepsis, Covid, Alcohol Withdrawal, Altered mental status, and a variety of infections (e.g., Gangrene, Necrotizing fasciitis, osteomyelitis, pneumonia, etc.).

Special Equipment: SCD pump, Bear Hugger, Wound vac, Tube feeding pump.

Charting: Epic

Preferred Scrub Color: Any combination of navy and white.
